Quote
“You could of convinced me not to do this”
E. Pratt
This means that the next time that we may feel uncomfortable with something concerning the class; we should talk to the professor about it. Remember, Professor Pratt is open to dialogue.
Enjoying the Lasagna
While we all were enjoying the lasagna that the Professor made:
Lindsay read a poem she did as the Ethnographer for last class.
Then the class had a small discussion on what was the central idea of the readings that we have read. The paper that we emphasized a little more was Donald Murray’s paper. It was said that the important thing in teaching writing is that we shouldn’t emphasize the product, but the process of discovering.
Weather Forecast
Now we leave you with Yolanda Padilla who is interviewing the Director of the National whether Agency Robert Haithcock that as last week, is going to inform us what is happening with the weather.

Apparently, the rain will never stop in Mayaguez. Please don’t forget your umbrellas! Thank you Robert for the information! Now we have to go to commercials, please stay tunned to 318 news!
Welcome back to 318 news reporting live from Chardon
Last week we had a special presentation by professor Jennifer Sanabria.
Presentation 1
Jeniffer Sanabria – Audience
Jeniffer gave a presentation about an article called “Closing my Eyes as I Apeak: Argument of Ignoring audience”. The article said that when writing, we should focus on the audience, but sometimes we can ignore the audience, especially when the audience might be perceived as “inhibiting,”. When can we ignore the audience? The article says that we can do so, when we write “privately”, this way we can reflect more on our topic, our thoughts, and even our writing. Then when we have finished writing we can revise it with our audience in mind.
Traffic Report
We go know to Marien Villanueva, who comes from Isabela, with the Traffic Report
Thank you Marien for that report!
Now we are back to 318 local news and special segments
Why is it that plagiarism is on the rise in schools and even in College? Sandra Soto had a word on that. She gave a successful conference about plagiarism at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez.
Presentation 2
Sandra Soto – Plagiarism
Sandra talked about plagiarism. She said that teachers explain to their students that plagiarism is bad, but they don’t explain to them why it is bad. Sandra also said that teachers shouldn’t take plagiarism personal.
Health Tips
Now Sandra Soto will give us some important salad- health tips.
Dessert
Yazmin came in a little late but brought the chocolate cake.
Special Thanks
To Sandra’s Husband for being our waiter.

Your report was so creative and funny that for a minute I though I was in a comedy show. From your attire to your segments, you really thought about all the elements that needed to be incorporated in order to make it a news cast report and found nice ways to include many of us. Yadira, I had no idea that you were taking pictures on Friday and even so, I would have never imagined that it was for this. So far everyone has done such a nice job, I don’t even know what to expect next, although I do look forward to all the scribes that are coming up this semester. Anyway, you girls deserved a standing ovation after your performance last night!

Thank you so much Sandra,we had a blast doing it, as we were doing it we laughed all the way. What we did was to observe everyone very closely in Friday’s class to do this. Friday night Robert was talking about the weather and that’s why he chose him. Marien comes from far so that why we choose her and We chose you because we know you are in a diet. I had the initial idea and Pratt said it would be great. We enjoyed it a lot and we are happy that you all enjoyed it. Thank you for participating.

Good Job, girls! I think that your scribe was very creative and that no one was expecting it. I think that you were able to summarized what happened in the class pretty well and at the same time it was funny. Also, you manage how to take the pictures without us noticing, Nice work. Let’s see what happens next!!

Very interesting scribe girls! I am liking this very much. I have to say that I find something very interesting about all the scribes already done and it is that in all of them is present the sense of humor everyone in this class have. It is intersting to note this because the professor asked us to be creative with this assignment but she did not mention anything about being funny, and you are adding something else and I believe that is great. What I liked the most about yours was that you quote the professor in something really important. Sometimes we forget how important is to use dialogue and the professor gave us a big lesson on that. Thank God it was a great experience though because we ate, talk and had a good time. Before I forget, I have to thank you for giving me a part on your newsreport, I am becoming famous in this class ha ha ha, first in Chabely’s poem and now in your newsreport. Congratulations girls, you informed and entertained us with your scribe.
