This blog belongs to English 6030 the Theory and Practice of Teaching Writing Course in  our graduate program at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez.  This is the first of two writing courses offered in the graduate Masters in English Education (MAEE) in the English Department. This course offers students the opportunity to explore the history of composition and the development of its major theories. Students will make connections between the theories and how they play out in the writing classroom. Because learning to write and teaching writing are best achieved by practicing writing, students have ample time to practice the writing strategies offered in the course and to reflect upon them.
